Sophie Paine

Director and founder

After 12 years working in finance positions and various English literacy experiences, Sophie Paine createdA and B make 3 limited to share her enthusiasm for financial literacy programs. Sophie is a Chartered Accountant, and has a Master degree in business studies (Institut d'Etudes Politiques de Paris), and a post graduate in finance and banking (Paris-Dauphine). She worked in financial management and accounting in US and British corporations (Hogg Robinson, SmithKline Beecham, Diageo...). Sophie set up her first finance training programme while working for SB. Sophie is also a co-facilitator for the World Bank Institute on-line financial training since May 2005. She has teaching experience in the US and Hong Kong, teaching English literacy respectively to newly arrived immigrants and Cantonese women.

Sophie attended the Citigroup/Insead Financial Education Summit in Hong Kong in 2004, Kuala Lumpur in 2005, Seoul in 2006 and Singapore (2009). She has taught finance programmes for managers for the Asia Business Forum in Singapore and Kuala Lumpur (2008). She was invited on March 11, 2008 by Lehman Brothers to give a speech on personal wealth for the International Women's Day. Myriam has a Master degree in Chinese studies (SOAS, University of London) and is fluent in English, Mandarin, French and German and also speaks conversational Cantonese and Spanish.

Myriam has been involved in development and social work for the last six years, mostly in China, Hong Kong and the United Kingdom. She specialises in women’s empowerment and income generation, including financial literacy, microfinance and fair trade.

Myriam founded and is the Coordinating Director for enrich, a Hong Kong training charity serving ethnic minorities and migrant workers. In addition to her role on enrich’s board, Myriam works as a consultant and trainer for NGOs and social enterprises in China, Hong Kong and overseas, creating and implementing personal development and financial literacy training for low income women.
